[Kelly Carambula is cool. Not only does she run a fantastic blog, produces a beautiful food journal, she’s a great person to hang out with at a cocktail party. Speaking of cocktails, she made one for us!]
This little number is inspired by the delicious fruit desserts that Tim shares. Blackberries, an ode to summer, are paired with a fall staple in my house, Fuji apple cider (regular apple cider works too) and bourbon to create a cocktail that’s sweet and satisfying. Finished with a rim of cinnamon sugar, it’s a perfect welcome to the beginning of a new season and another year of delicious treats from Tim.
blackberry + apple cocktail
makes 1 cocktail
2 blackberries + 1 for garnish
2 ounces fresh apple cider—preferably fuji apple cider, but regular is great too
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 ounce bourbon
1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar, for the rim
1. Pour the cinnamon sugar on a plate. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with a lemon slice, then dip it in the cinnamon sugar. Set aside.
2. Muddle 2 blackberries with the lemon juice and simple syrup. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice, then add the apple cider and bourbon. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
3. Strain the cocktail into the cinnamon-rimmed glass and garnish with a blackberry. Enjoy!

Ooh, yes please! This is the perfect drink for early fall–especially with the fresh apple cider. It’s making me miss the north, land of apples and hot cider and doughnuts at the u-pick farm. :)

I’m making this this weekend! We’ve got all the ingredients except blackberries. And I’ve mentally selected which muddler I’ll use.

I love this blog! It was the first one I ever started following. I’m crazy about berry cocktails, so I’m definitely going to give this Fall drink a shot. I literally have every berry on hand. :D

This looks so yummy – It reminds me of a muddled blackberry cocktail I always order at The Raines Law Room in New York. I continually never make the connection that I could just as easily make these at home. Thanks :)
