Special Event!

I am so very excited to announce the first official Lottie + Doof event. First, there was merchandise and now, an event. Soon, there will be a theme park.

I am thrilled to be collaborating with my pal (and favorite Chicago baker), Sandra Holl (and the rest of the fantastic team at Floriole) to bring you a special dinner inspired by our youths in the Midwest. This is the sort of Midwestern comfort food that the movie version of me would have grown up on (the real me grew up on the bottled or boxed versions). We’ve pulled and adapted some recipes from my site, and added some things that just sounded delicious. My blog will come to life!

Without further delay, the menu:

Details after the break….

All of this can be yours for $35, which may be the best dining deal in Chicago. There will be drink pairings available on the night of the event for an additional fee. And there is a vegetarian option, which you can ask about when you order tickets.
How do you order tickets?

They can be purchased in person at Floriole or by calling the bakery on (773) 883-1313. Remember that these are tickets, like theatre tickets. They are nonrefundable— you need to pass them onto a friend (or scalp them!) if you can’t come. And tickets are very limited! So call now and order!

It is sure to be a fun night and I hope to see you there!

UPDATE (1/17/11): Tickets to this event are sold out! Thanks to everyone for the overwhelming response. I’ll be sure to share photos of the dinner and keep you posted on any future plans.

  1. WHY DO I LIVE IN CALIFORNIA

  2. This looks fantastic! …I think you need to come and do an event in Cape Town next… Chicago is a little far :)

  3. Sounds wonderful — I can almost taste the 1980 & 2011 versions simultaneously! Sorry I can’t make it to Chicago in February, but I hope everyone has a great time.

  4. Pam- there is no place I would rather go next!

  5. Ahh, this is so exciting! Are there any plans for a vegetarian/pescatarian option en lieu of the pork? (I actually do eat chicken+beef+fish, just no pork…) The rest of the menu sounds fantastic, though and I can probably just have the potatoes gratin+slaw and be plenty happy.
